Celebrating 75:
Art and Design Alumni

Celebrating 75:  Art and Design Alumni highlights the skill, ingenuity and imagination of artists who studied in the Art and Design department at Westchester Community College, SUNY. The exhibition celebrates the 75th anniversary of the college, which was founded in 1946 with a central focus on the applied arts. Design, as a practice and a set of principles, remains a critical component of the Art and Design curriculum today, as evinced in the dynamic work presented in this exhibition. Here alumni harness graphic design to transform everyday objects into cultural symbols; or they use digital design to exploit the expressive value of modern software; many manifest ideas of being in the world – here and now – through form and composition, primary elements of visual design.
